IN - BETWEENS: Mark Weigh

Mark Weigh's first solo exhibit entitled "In-Betweens" takes the viewer on a journey through the artist's introspective world, featuring his self-representation character, Maru.

Through ten works of acrylic paint and markers on canvas, Weigh explores the concept of "in-betweens", which he derives from the dialogue between opposing concepts like life and death, sadness and happiness, fantasy and reality, and fact and fiction. Each piece in the exhibit offers a unique perspective on the theme, with Maru serving as a guide through the artist's personal experiences and reflections.

The works are characterized by a vibrant color palette, bold graphic elements, and an overall sense of whimsy that is both engaging and thought-provoking. The theme of "in-betweens" is particularly relevant in the context of existential crisis and the pandemic, which has created a pervading sense of uncertainty and ambiguity in our lives. Weigh's artwork offers a playful and introspective exploration of this theme, inviting the viewer to consider their own experiences and perspectives.

Overall, "In-Betweens" is a compelling and thought-provoking exhibit that showcases Mark Weigh's unique style and perspective. Through Maru and the concept of "in-betweens", Weigh offers a playful and engaging exploration of life's complexities, leaving the viewer with a renewed sense of curiosity and wonder.
